Head Margit Frank leads the local council group through the Porsche Experience Center / around 80 jobs have been created
“We are just impressed and are very happy to have the Porsche Experience Center (PEC) in Hockenheim,” said CDU parliamentary group leader Markus Fuchs, summarizing the impressions after a two-hour tour of the new building in the heart of the Hockenheimring.
The visit was initiated by the managing partner of the Emodrom Group Thomas Reister, who had issued the invitation to all city council groups and which was accepted by the CDU parliamentary group, according to a press release by the Christian Democrats. After all, it is one thing to deal with this topic remotely at the council table – another to be able to get an idea for yourself on site. And indeed: not only the modernly designed building was convincing inside and out, but also the operating concept met with great and lively interest.
The myth lives
The delegation was welcomed by PEC head Margit Frank, who presented the concept and answered questions. On three floors and on 800 square meters, not only Porsche vehicles are presented, but the myth is also lived. The colors white, anthracite and black dominate the interior – timeless and simple, elegant and yet sporty. Those interested in Porsche can get advice on their dream vehicle on site and try it out on the site of the former driving safety center. 18 vehicle advisors are available for this. There is also a fleet of 90 vehicles, including the Taycan, the first fully electric car from the Zuffenhausen-based vehicle forge.
The consultation will be carried out in Hockenheim. The sale takes place through the appropriate dealers. With so many vehicles, it is not only essential to have your own workshop, but also to have several electric charging stations. “The seventh PEC was created with Hockenheim, the second in Germany after Leipzig, and is now in line with the other centers in Shanghai, Atlanta and Le Mans,” said Margit Frank. With the biggest Porsche event of all time – around 70,000 spectators came to the two-day “Sportscar Together Day” – Hockenheim catapulted itself into the front row of the PECs, as Frank proudly presented. Overall, the PEC offers a workplace for around 60 people. In addition, there are another 20 people for the route. With the hoped-for settlement of further companies, further, above all highly qualified jobs could be created.
Thomas Reister referred to the good cooperation with Porsche, which was indispensable for the record construction time of the major construction site of just twelve months from the groundbreaking to the opening in October. “We promised to bring premium manufacturers and innovative mobility concepts, including infrastructure, to the traditional Hockenheimring race track. And we kept this promise, ”said Reister, who founded Emodrom GmbH together with Hockenheimring GmbH in 2012 with the task of developing new business areas at the Hockenheimring – with a clear focus on alternative drive technologies, especially e-mobility.
