The Baden-Württemberg Minister for Culture, Youth and Sport, Dr. Susanne Eisenmann, accompanied by Karl Klein / MdL and Dr. Olav Gutting / Member of the Bundestag the Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg.

She inquired about the current effects of the Corona restrictions and their influence on the economic consequences for the Hockenheim-Ring GmbH based on the Ring and the emodrom group of companies. Managing director Jorn Teske explained the difficult situation and lasting problems that the largest event location in Baden-Württemberg has had to deal with since the beginning of the crisis. Thomas Reister, founder and CEO of the emodrom group, presented the future-oriented opportunities of the transformation process that has already been started for 3 years. It was agreed that additional distortions of competition due to the different interpretations of the COVID-19 regulations in the federal states are problematic and therefore individual hygiene concepts are created and should be checked. Due to its size and the high seating and parking space, the Hockenheimring would have the opportunity to expect visitors again in the foreseeable future.

“The racetrack is a figurehead for the region and enjoys enormous worldwide recognition. With the emodrom, a strong piece of the future has now become part of the ring. In my opinion, support for overcoming the COVID-19 crisis is in the interests of the whole country”, said Olav Gutting.

“For me, the Hockenheimring is not only the most traditional racetrack in Europe, it also stands for innovation, for research and for meeting people. The developments in technology and materials are now a safety standard in many areas of mobility and will also open up many future opportunities for a modern business location Baden-Württemberg. The goals and visions of emodrom are part of it and at the same time the driving force. That is why politics, business and the city of Hockenheim are called upon to lead the Hockenheimring through the pandemic and to preserve future opportunities. The conversation with women Minister Dr. Susanne Eisenmann was a good basis for this and gives confidence that we will tackle this together, “said Karl Klein.

“I found the visit from Minister of Sport Dr. Susanne Eisenmann good. The exchange about the activities of Ring GmbH and emodrom group was constructive, open and characterized by interest. That shows me that the companies are recognized by the state government. You have great visibility for the country. So I would like the state to be even more committed to our activities at the Hockenheimring, “said Mayor Marcus Zeitler.

“The visit of Minister Dr. Eisenmann shows that here at the Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg we have one of the world’s most famous and largest sports / event venues in Germany, for which we all stand here and are working with great commitment to lead this traditional facility into a secure future. That is why we will preserve the DNA and tradition and expand them with new, innovative business models. The current Corona crisis shows that emodrom has been on the right track since the beginning, in which the previous sports and music events of Hockenheim-Ring GmbH are still practically without visitors, if at all, whereas the new emodrom divisions are more independent of them and be able to act economically more stable ”, says emodrom boss Thomas Reister confidently.
