The Porsche Sports Cup Suisse started the 2020 season with its first run at the Hockenheimring last weekend. Due to the corona, there were repeated postponements here in the spring and the uncertainty as to whether and when a run to the championship would even be possible. The full field of drivers shows that the teams and drivers are interested in finally being able to race again after a long period of abstinence.
“We are very pleased to be back at the Hockenheimring after so many years with the Porsche Sports Cup Suisse, the Swiss Porsche one-make cup. We are thus building on one
long tradition and hope to be able to run a run of our series here in the future. “Richard Feller.
“Our participants are thrilled to be able to drive with us again at Hockenheim. Many of our drivers know the circuit very well because they have completed their racing license course here. It is one of the most fascinating and traditional circuits in Europe: fast, technically demanding and in an excellent one Condition. We look forward to a successful cooperation! ” Ernesto Mancosu.
“After I visited Richard and Ernesto at their race weekend in Mugello last year, I suggested that they could come to us at the Hockenheimring from this year with the Porsche Sports Cup Suisse. After living in Switzerland for 20 years myself , I know a lot of drivers and fans for whom our track here in Hockenheim is practically the “home track”. In this respect, I am very happy that the Swiss organization team succeeded despite the difficult Corona situation, with extensive safety and hygiene measures, adhering to the guidelines and being able to complete their first run of the season here last weekend. A great job and thanks again to the series and those responsible for making us part of their calendar again in the future, “said Thomas Reister.
